No grants are available in 2011.
The Kankakee Kultivators Garden Club welcomes your interest in applying for our Beautification Grant for the 2010 gardening season. Grants must be received by March 31, 2010, and monies will be allocated on April 15, 2010. Grants will be considered based on how well your project achieves the club’s objectives: to foster knowledge and love of gardening, to beautify the community, and to aid in the protection of trees, wildflowers and birds.
Typically a grant project will beautify a public area of the community or create an educational tool for the community and schools. Grants up to $1500 are considered. An application letter must be submitted along with a detailed description of the project, which may include pictures. The application must state the means of installation for the project. Evidence of sustainability must exist to be considered. Sustainability includes information about the organization that will be in charge of infrastructure, identifying the existing water source, and details of maintenance plans for the site.
Past grant projects have included the creation of: community beautification projects, sensory gardens for the sight impaired, educational gardens at schools including butterfly gardens and a tadpole pond, and community park improvements. The Kankakee Kultivators Garden Club has awarded Beautification Grants since 1998. We welcome, encourage, and support your interest and enthusiasm in the beautification and educational development of our community.
